BMCJ- Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication & Journalism (BMCJ)

In a fast growing flow of information world where the information is power the Mass Media have a drastic influential role, especially in Afghanistan where the mass media has an important role in shaping socio – economic and political situation. Mass Communication is the study of mass media including all types of medium used through which we convey information and messages to the target audience. The Bachelor Course in Mass Communication & Journalism includes different aspects; such as news media, public relations, reporting & editing, research studies, Online Journalism, Communication etc. There is no doubt that the Mass Communication & Journalism with professional approach is one of the fast growing subjects in the field of social science. With due respect to all these fact Mashal Institute of Higher Education designed a curriculum for this course which is professional and result oriented. The aims is to provide an atmosphere in which each student can professionally work in all part of the mass media such as print, radio, TV, internet etc.

- Objective

To communicate effectively by the means of Mass Media to bring about mutual understanding amongst the Nation, To properly use information technology, by means of which one can transfer the message, To circulate the ideas which can upgrade the level of understanding amongst the people, To give a united outlook and aims to the nation, To strengthen and fasten the process of nation building in the country, and To realize the notion of solidarity amongst the people of this country.

- Eligibility

Students securing at least 50% marks in 12th class (or equivalent), are eligible to apply for the LLB(Law). However admission be given to the students who will secure 50% marks in aggregate i.e. in entry test, interviews and academic career. Beside those criteria’s the student must complete the following documents:

•Original document of 12th Class attested Certificate required at the time of addmission,
•Photocopy of 12th Class Certificate,
•Copy of National ID Card “Tazkara”,
•4 Passport Size Photographs,
•Admission form to be fill up.

Courses Details:

The Mass Communication & Journalism (BAJM) course has eight semesters with 138 credit hours. One credit should be taught 16 weeks/semester.
